Mobimeme has been trusted with digital marketing for IWESCO since February 2020. This contract cleaning and waste control company has offices throughout South Africa, but at the start of our partnership, IWESCO was only based in Tshwane and Cape Town. The start of our partnership was marked by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, but despite this, we helped to grow IWESCO’s core business by nine percent in 2020. 

As a result, the company opened new offices in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Mbombela, Mossel Bay and the Transkei. IWESCO did not use any other digital advertising methods during this time and we started the partnership with a new website and zero audience. Our marketing strategy has evolved over the years, shifting from a content-heavy output to a major push with performance advertising on social media.

For the first two years, Mobimeme wrote six articles per month for IWESCO. These focused on their various services, industry news and general topics of interest for their target audience. All of the articles were optimised for search engines and contained hyperlinks to IWESCO’s contact page and other important links.

From April 2022 to April 2023, we reduced the number of new articles to just one per month. We then took three existing articles from their blog and updated them every month. These were also posted and boosted to the target audience along with the new article. 

From April 2023 to now, we have been posting two service-related articles monthly and creating an additional performance advert through Facebook Business Manager for one of IWESCO’s services. This advert is shown in many forms to a highly-targeted audience through Meta-affiliated platforms.

Digital marketing results

In just over three years of extensive digital marketing campaigns for IWESCO, here are some highlights of growth and success:

  • Website visitors – The IWESCO website has been visited by over 51 500 people. Around two-thirds of these users came to the site from social media, where we ran our targeted campaigns. About one-quarter of website visitors came from organic searches on search engines or by typing the website URL directly into their browser.

  • SEO traffic – As a result of three years of content marketing, IWESCO’s SEO traffic on the site has steadily increased. This is the result of keyword targeting in all of our articles.

  • Facebook audience – The IWESCO Facebook page has grown from 0 to 10 237 followers. The boosted adverts that we created have been clicked on by 97 759 people. Over the last three years, a total of 3.44 million people have seen the Facebook page and/or its adverts.
  • LinkedIn audience – We started posting organically on IWESCO’s LinkedIn page in February 2021. Since then, we have grown the platform without any budget to a total of 208 followers.

Working alongside a national contract cleaning company that also offers waste control, pest control and garden maintenance services, has allowed Mobimeme to highlight the effectiveness of content marketing and social media advertising with very little budget.
